SUNSCREEN INGREDIENTS TO AVOID

DOES YOUR sunscreen contain benzophenone, homosalate, octinoxate, oxybenzone, padimate O, or para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA)?  According to the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, you want to avoid these chemicals in your sunscreen.

HOW TO SHOP FOR SUNSCREEN: 1) In cream based sunscreens, UV filters like octinoxate, oxybenzone, benzophenone, and homosalate should be replaced with options like titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. 2) Avoid inhalable (sprayable) forms of sunscreen. 3) See more at: http://www.safecosmetics.org/get-the-facts/whats-in-my-products/#sthash.b56vFJbx.dpuf

Make sure your sunscreen is a broad spectrum.  Anything over a SPF30 is not necessary.  You are adding more chemicals for very little more protection.  The key is to reapply sunscreen every 2-/1/2 to 3 hours if you are in the sun directly.
